Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a mist-covered rainforest of tangled treetops, ancient roots, and dense ferns—one of the oldest, richest, and most biologically diverse forests in the region. It is home to over 120 mammal species, including more than 300 mountain gorillas, representing roughly half of the world’s wild population. Some of these groups are habituated, allowing for rare, close-up encounters.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Gorillas)

Begin your first day of gorilla trekking in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with an early morning hike through dense rainforest in search of endangered mountain gorillas. Once located, spend an unforgettable hour observing them at close range — from mothers caring for infants to playful young gorillas and protective silverbacks. Experience their intelligence and gentle nature in a rare and powerful encounter. Return to your lodge for time to relax. Later, enjoy a cocktail as a chef demonstrates a local dish, which you then sample before dinner.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Gorillas)

Return to the forest for a second gorilla trekking experience, once again stepping into the heart of the wilderness to observe a family of mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. If time allows, continue with a cultural encounter with the Batwa people, the traditional guardians of the forest. Accompanied by a Batwa guide, visit their community and learn about their ancestral way of life, including traditional hunting techniques and deep-rooted knowledge of the forest.
