Your private safari guide will meet you at your hotel in Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital. Before departing, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a powerful and moving tribute to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, offering an important introduction to Rwanda’s history.
Afterwards, begin your scenic drive north-west toward the Uganda border, passing rolling green hills, terraced farmland, and rural villages. After completing border formalities, continue to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Uganda’s smallest but most dramatic national park, located in the Virunga volcanic range.

After an early breakfast, head to the ranger station for a detailed briefing on gorilla trekking protocols and safety. Led by expert trackers and a ranger, you’ll enter the misty forest in search of a habituated gorilla family in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Once located, spend up to one hour observing these gentle giants from a safe distance as they feed, groom, and interact. Return to the lodge to relax and reflect on this unforgettable experience.

After breakfast, visit the Batwa community, the original forest inhabitants, and learn about their traditional lifestyle, music, and dance. Participate in a coffee-making experience from bean to cup. Later, cross back into Rwanda and transfer to a lodge near Volcanoes National Park for dinner and overnight.
Volcanoes National Park (Gorillas)
After breakfast, embark on a guided hike up Mount Bisoke, a dormant volcano in Volcanoes National Park, known for its stunning crater lake at the summit. This scenic trek is ideal for nature lovers and photographers. Return to the lodge in the afternoon to rest and relax. Overnight stay.

Begin the day tracking rare golden monkeys in the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park. Afterwards, visit the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund campus and the Gorilla Guardians Village for an immersive cultural experience. In the afternoon, transfer to the shores of Lake Kivu for lakeside relaxation.

Enjoy a relaxed morning breakfast at the lakeside. If time allows, visit the vibrant Gisenyi town markets. Afterwards, drive south through Rwanda’s green hills and tea plantations to Nyungwe National Park, home to one of Africa’s oldest montane rainforests and 13 primate species.

Start early at 4:30 am with a short transfer to either Cyamudongo Forest or Uwinka Visitor Center in Nyungwe National Park for chimpanzee trekking. The chimps are highly active and vocal, making the experience exciting and fast-paced. Later, enjoy the canopy walk suspended 70 meters above the forest floor, offering stunning views of the rainforest, birds, and primates.

After breakfast, enjoy a final activity: Angolan Colobus monkey trekking in Nyungwe National Park. These striking black-and-white monkeys are often seen in large groups and are easy to spot.
