A safari in the Serengeti is a dream for many, and your stay at the Serengeti Pioneer Camp will put you in the perfect spot to experience it. This area is renowned for two incredible wildlife experiences: spotting the Big 5 and witnessing the Great Migration. The “Big 5” refers to five of the most sought-after animals to see: the lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and Cape buffalo. Your camp is ideally located to help you spot all of them.
The Great Migration is another breathtaking event that passes right through this region. It’s the largest mammal migration on Earth, involving over two million animals, primarily wildebeest, as they move across the plains in search of fresh grazing land. Depending on the time of year you visit, you may have the opportunity to witness this magnificent spectacle firsthand.
Your home during this adventure is the Serengeti Pioneer Camp, a luxurious tented camp with a touch of classic safari charm. It’s perched on a rocky hill, giving you incredible, sweeping views of the Serengeti plains. This beautiful setting allows you to feel fully immersed in the wilderness, making your stay a truly unforgettable experience.

Twelve spacious tents, including a two-bedroom family tent, are perfect for your stay. They are designed to feel like a romantic, classic safari adventure but with all the modern comforts you need. Each tent includes thoughtful touches like a writing desk and comfy deck chairs, perfect for enjoying the coffee that’s delivered to you in the morning.
Your tent’s canvas walls can be opened to let you enjoy the beautiful Serengeti skies. Inside, woven carpets add to the cozy feel, and a hot shower is always ready to wash away any dust from your day of spotting elephants.
Evenings are just as special. You can enjoy a delicious, candlelit dinner in the main dining tent or under a sky full of stars before you settle in for a deep and peaceful night’s sleep.
Enjoy a luxurious, front-row seat to the best of the Serengeti’s wildlife. We can start our day early with a game drive, complete with a champagne picnic breakfast. Later, we’ll stop for a delicious picnic lunch.
The wildlife here is spectacular—you’ll see everything from lions and giraffes to hippos and rhinos. We can arrange a special, private picnic at a secret hilltop location with breathtaking views of the plains. It’s an unforgettable experience, and the only thing that comes close is the magical view you get from a hot air balloon safari.
Before Namiri Plains existed, these vast grasslands in Tanzania were closed off to visitors for over 20 years to help the cheetah population recover. This was a hugely successful conservation effort, and today, the area is home to healthy populations of elephants, zebras, giraffes, and many other animals.
Namiri Plains is now a remote and much-loved camp that offers an excellent base for a safari. The camp’s design is beautiful, with graceful tented roofs, luxurious outdoor tubs, and a deep-blue pool overlooking the endless Serengeti landscape.
Located by the Ngare Nanyuki River, the camp offers plenty of ways to relax. You can spend a sultry afternoon by the pool, indulge at the spa, or find a good book in the library, which is filled with fascinating materials about big cats and conservation.
We highly recommend enjoying a cocktail on your private deck and watching the incredible cloud formations that only the Serengeti sky can produce. Completely refurbished in 2019, Namiri Plains runs entirely on solar power, although after each breathtaking sunset, you’ll find that the stars alone are enough to light up your night.
Unleash your wild side at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge, a luxurious and modern retreat perched on a hill in the heart of the Serengeti. Strategically located in the wildlife-rich Seronera region, this lodge provides a front-row seat to the iconic drama of the plains and the legendary Great Migration.
Each elegant, tented suite, set on a raised wooden platform, offers a private sanctuary with a view. Unwind on your terrace, cocktail in hand, and watch as herds of elephants, wildebeest, and zebra pass by below. For the ultimate in relaxation, refresh yourself in the infinity pool that overlooks the vast, golden savannah, or enjoy a soothing massage in the on-site spa.
Beyond thrilling game drives, Kubu Kubu offers unique experiences like hot air balloon safaris at dawn, providing a breathtaking, bird’s-eye view of the landscape. As the sun sets, gather around the crackling campfire to share stories of the day’s sightings under a sky filled with a million stars. Serengeti Mara River Camp is a high-end, permanent tented camp located in the remote Lamai Triangle of the northern Serengeti. Its prime location on a dramatic river bend of the Mara River makes it one of the best places to witness the spectacular wildebeest river crossings during the Great Migration. The camp is known for its stunning views, intimate atmosphere, and direct access to one of the most exciting wildlife spectacles in Africa.
The camp’s design blends seamlessly with the natural environment, featuring luxury tents that are both spacious and comfortable. The main lodge area offers various spaces for guests to relax, including a pool sala for al fresco dining and a signature bar. The camp is also committed to sustainability, operating entirely off-grid with a custom-designed solar system and using eco-friendly materials to minimize its environmental impact.
In addition to front-row seats to the Great Migration, guests can enjoy a range of activities. These include daily game drives in state-of-the-art vehicles, guided walks to explore the smaller details of the bush, and a chance to see a wide variety of wildlife, from resident predators and herbivores to the immense herds of the migration. The camp’s focus on privacy, personalized service, and a connection to the natural world ensures a unique and unforgettable safari experience.
