At Mihingo, the wildlife comes to you. Suni, Bush Buck & Impala Rooms, These tents feature their own private salt licks, allowing you to sit comfortably on your balcony and watch elegant antelope graze just meters away.
Buffalo & Water Hole Rooms, Tucked away on the lush grassy plain near the water, these are our most secluded rooms. While they are the furthest from the main lodge, they offer unmatched privacy and place you closest to the resident wildlife.
There is no finer way to greet the day than with our signature morning service. Wake up to a freshly brewed pot of hot tea or coffee delivered straight to your room. Wrap yourself in the stillness of the dawn and take in the surrounding nature from your spacious veranda before heading off for breakfast, a morning game drive, or horseback safari.
Since you’re already here, you have to try one of the lodge’s signatures: the exhilarating horseback safaris. They have so many different trail options, and there is nothing quite like quietly riding right alongside herds of zebras and impalas without the sound of an engine.
If you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, you can head out on an exciting walking safari to track wildlife with a guide, or even take a game drive that includes a short, beautiful hike up to a stunning panoramic viewing point. And if you feel like a workout, you can even head just outside the park boundaries for a guided jogging session or a mountain bike tour through the hills.
When you want a change of pace, you can head down to the lake for a lovely boat trip, where you’ll find yourself surrounded by hundreds of splashing hippos and an incredible array of vibrant water birds. For a beautiful cultural exchange, you can also take a walk to visit a traditional Bahima home, giving you a rare and wonderful insight into rural life and the fascinating cattle-herding traditions of the local community.
The adventure definitely doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. In the evening, you can head down to the special wildlife hide right near the waterhole to see who comes down for a drink, or walk down to the platform just below the bar for a chance to watch the adorable, wide-eyed bush babies leap through the branches. You can also head out into the darkness on a night game drive, which is your absolute best shot at spotting secretive nocturnal animals like leopards or bush pigs.
