11 – Day East Africa by Private Air

Often called the “Pearl of Africa,” Uganda offers breathtaking landscapes, rich wildlife, and remarkable diversity. It is home to some of the world’s last wild mountain gorillas and features iconic natural highlights like Lake Victoria and the source of the Nile River. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and settle in.

Begin with a scenic drive through the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, established in 1898 and rich with birdlife, monkeys and lush vegetation. Meet a local speaker who shares stories of the Kabaka Kings, colonial history and modern Uganda. Then fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, enjoy lunch at your lodge, and visit Bwindi Village to explore community projects, including a women’s bicycle shop, craft initiatives and a local hospital. Return for a welcome dinner.

Begin your first of two gorilla treks with an early hike through the dense forests of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Once you locate a family of endangered mountain gorillas, spend a remarkable hour observing them up close — from nurturing mothers to protective silverbacks. Return to camp for time to relax. Later, enjoy a cocktail as a chef demonstrates a local dish, which you sample before dinner.

Bask again in the bond that exists between primate and man as you set out on your final gorilla trek. Afterward, relax at your lodge before dinner.

Fly by private air to Serengeti National Park, with brief stops for customs in Uganda and Tanzania. Enjoy stunning low-altitude views along the way. Arrive in Tanzania and settle into your luxury tented camp before heading out on your first game drive across this vast wilderness, home to extraordinary wildlife. End the day with a classic sundowner, soaking in the magic of the African sunset.

Set out on morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park, witnessing the rhythm of life across its vast plains. Look for giraffes, wildebeest, elephants and a wide array of wildlife in one of Africa’s most iconic safari landscapes.

On your final day in Serengeti National Park, keep your camera ready for herds of buffalo, prides of lions, or the swift elegance of a cheetah. The park is also home to over 500 bird species, offering remarkable sightings at every turn.

Fly by private charter to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, with brief customs stops in Tanzania and Kenya. Set along the Great Migration route, the Mara hosts vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle. Enjoy scenic low-level views before arriving at your luxury camp. Head out on an afternoon game drive in search of topi, hippos, warthogs and more. Your visit is timed for peak migration. End the day relaxing under the African night sky.

Rise before dawn for a hot air balloon safari over the vast plains of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Drift above wildlife-rich landscapes before landing for a bush breakfast in the open savannah. Later, continue game viewing with your expert guide in search of leopard, elephants protecting their young, and other iconic wildlife. You may also encounter Maasai herders crossing the plains, continuing a traditional nomadic way of life that has endured for centuries.

After your morning game drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, return to camp and enjoy relaxed free time until lunch. This afternoon, choose one “Design Your Day” experience: visit a Maasai village to learn about traditional nomadic life and meet community members, or join a guided nature walk for a closer look at the reserve’s wildlife and landscapes. Later, set out on a final game drive before returning to camp for your farewell dinner.
