After enjoying breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, or upon arrival at Kigali Airport, you will be met by our company representative. He will introduce you to your safari driver-guide, who will provide a brief orientation. You’ll then embark on a short Kigali city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where you’ll learn more about the 1994 Rwanda genocide. Afterward, you’ll have lunch before setting off on the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Cyanika or Gatuna border post—a drive of approximately 5 hours. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your booked accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Start your day with an early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for a briefing from Uganda’s officials. You’ll then drive to the trekking starting point, where you’ll have a short orientation before entering the jungle for your gorilla trekking experience. As you encounter the shy mountain gorillas, you’ll have the unique opportunity to sit and observe these majestic creatures for a full hour, gazing into their gentle eyes.
A moderate level of fitness is required for this safari, along with comfortable walking shoes, packed food and water, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a hat. The gorilla trekking experience can last anywhere from half a day to a full day, depending on the gorillas' movements. This unforgettable encounter with Uganda's mountain gorillas will provide memories to last a lifetime.
After the trek, you’ll meet your guide, who will transfer you back to your lodge for lunch. Following lunch, you can relax at your leisure or choose an optional community walk tour. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at the lodge.
You will enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the lodge before meeting your guide and starting the drive back to Kigali. Along the way, you’ll have a stop for lunch before being dropped off at your hotel in Kigali. Depending on your flight time, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your evening flight.
