Arusha (City)
After breakfast and a short safari briefing, depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park. Enjoy a game drive among ancient baobab trees, searching for the park’s famous elephant herds, lions, buffalo, giraffes and other wildlife. Later, continue to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Tarangire National Park, exploring its baobab-dotted landscapes and searching for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo and other wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch and leisure before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Later, return for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, drive to Central Serengeti, arriving in time for lunch. This area serves as an ideal stopover before continuing the following day to the region where the Great Wildebeest Migration is concentrated.
In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive across the Seronera plains, known for excellent year-round wildlife including lions, elephants, giraffes, leopards and large herds of plains game. Later, continue to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight, ready to follow the migration the next day.
After breakfast, leave Central Serengeti and follow the Great Wildebeest Migration—south to Ndutu from December to March for the calving season, or north to the Mara River from July to October for possible river crossings. Spend the day tracking the herds and predators before continuing to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, spend a full day following the Great Wildebeest Migration, either in Ndutu and the Southern Serengeti during the calving season or in the Northern Serengeti during the Mara River crossing season. Track the vast herds and predators throughout the day, with lunch during the safari, before returning to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.
If the Great Migration is in the Southern Serengeti, spend another full day following the herds across the Ndutu and southern plains. If the migration is in the Northern Serengeti, enjoy a morning game drive following the herds before travelling back to Central Serengeti in the afternoon. Continue to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, depart the Serengeti and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, descending to the crater floor for a game drive. Explore this wildlife-rich ecosystem in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras and the rare black rhino, with lunch served in the crater. Later, ascend and continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
On your final day, you have the option to extend your relaxation at the lodge until your flight departure time. Our driver will then transport you to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your journey home. If you're considering prolonging your stay, you can also opt to add a few extra days to explore Tanzania's idyllic islands, including Zanzibar, Pemba, or Mafia!

Unless otherwise stated in your confirmed itinerary, flights should be arranged as follows:
Arrival: Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
Departure: Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
Arusha Airport (ARK) primarily serves domestic and regional flights. Travellers may also reach Arusha via connecting flights through Dar es Salaam (DAR) or Nairobi (NBO), depending on the available flight schedule and routing.
Bush 2 City Adventure can recommend suitable international flight options that align with your safari itinerary. However, the final booking, payment and management of international flights remain your responsibility.

Bush 2 City Adventure is not responsible for international flight delays, cancellations, missed connections, schedule changes or other disruptions caused by third-party airlines.
Domestic and Regional Flights
Where domestic or regional flights are included in your Tanzania safari, Bush 2 City Adventure will arrange and book them on your behalf. Confirmed flight details will be provided before departure.
Safari flights commonly have strict baggage limits and normally require soft-sided luggage. Please follow the specific baggage instructions provided with each confirmed flight.
Flight schedules may change due to weather, operational requirements or circumstances beyond our control. If a flight is cancelled or significantly changed before travel, we will assist in finding a suitable available alternative. Once travel has commenced, delays, cancellations and other disruptions remain subject to the operating airline’s conditions.

If an independently booked international flight causes you to miss part of your safari or a domestic or regional connection, any additional accommodation, transfers, meals, replacement flights or itinerary changes will be at the traveller’s expense.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering flight delays, cancellations, missed connections, baggage problems and other unexpected travel disruptions.
Health & Medical Considerations
Travellers should be in reasonably good health for a Tanzania safari. Some activities may involve early starts, walking, extended game drives and travel over rough or uneven terrain.
If you have a medical condition, limited mobility, allergies or other requirements that may affect your safari, consult your doctor before travelling and inform Bush 2 City Adventure in advance.
Vaccinations & Malaria
A Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate may be required when entering Tanzania if you are arriving from, or have transited for an extended period through, a country where yellow fever is a risk. If applicable, keep the original certificate with your passport and carry it during your journey.
Malaria is present in parts of Tanzania. Consult your doctor or a qualified travel-health specialist well before departure for advice on malaria prevention and any recommended vaccinations based on your personal health and travel plans.
Medication, Diet & Insurance
Bring sufficient prescription medication for your entire journey and keep essential medication in your carry-on luggage. Medication should remain in its original labelled packaging, together with a copy of the prescription where appropriate.
Please inform us in advance of any dietary requirements, allergies, medical conditions or mobility needs so that suitable arrangements can be made where possible.

Health, vaccination and entry requirements may change. Travellers are responsible for obtaining professional medical advice and confirming the latest Tanzania health requirements before departure.
Recommended Safari Reading
Would you like to learn more about Tanzania before your safari? These recommended books offer fascinating insights into the country’s wildlife, landscapes, conservation history and safari heritage.
Our favourites include The Safari Companion by Richard D. Estes and The Kingdon Field Guide to African Mammals by Jonathan Kingdon for identifying and understanding the wildlife you may encounter. Serengeti Shall Not Die by Bernhard and Michael Grzimek provides an important perspective on the Serengeti ecosystem and its conservation legacy.
For a broader connection to Tanzania, books covering the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Mount Kilimanjaro and the Maasai people can provide additional insight into the landscapes, wildlife and cultures you may experience during your journey.
Reading is completely optional, but it is an enjoyable way to prepare for your Tanzania safari and gain a deeper appreciation of the places you will visit.
Weather
Tanzania is a year-round safari destination, generally offering warm days and cooler mornings and evenings. Temperatures vary depending on altitude, season and location. Higher-altitude areas, particularly the Ngorongoro Highlands, can become quite cool after sunset and during early-morning game drives, while lower areas such as Serengeti and Tarangire are generally warmer.
The main dry season is typically from June to October, with another generally drier period from January to February. The long rains usually occur from March to May, while the short rains generally fall between October and December. Rainfall patterns can vary from year to year and between different regions.
The green season brings lush landscapes, fewer visitors in some areas and excellent opportunities for wildlife and landscape photography. Pack light, comfortable clothing for warm days, a fleece or jacket for cool mornings and evenings, and a lightweight waterproof jacket during the wetter months.
We recommend checking the latest weather forecast for the areas included in your safari shortly before departure, as local conditions can change.
What to Pack
Pack light, comfortable safari clothing in neutral colours, including lightweight shirts, long trousers and comfortable walking shoes. Bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and insect repellent, together with a light jacket or fleece for cooler early-morning and evening game drives. A lightweight waterproof jacket is also recommended, particularly during the rainy seasons.
Useful safari essentials include binoculars, a camera, charging equipment or spare batteries, a reusable water bottle, personal medication and all required travel documents. A small flashlight or headlamp can also be useful at safari camps and lodges.
Keep your passport, visa documents, Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate if applicable, proof of required travel insurance, valuables and essential medication in your carry-on luggage.
If your Tanzania safari includes domestic flights or small safari aircraft, pack light and use soft-sided luggage. Strict baggage weight and size limits may apply, so always follow the baggage instructions provided with your confirmed flight details.
