Our large tents are built on beautiful wood decks and offer plenty of space. Each tent features a large bed with a mosquito net, a separate living room, a writing desk, and a modern bathroom. From your private terrace, you can watch the many animals of the Maasai Mara walk by.
Dining at Olare Mara is a special experience. We use fresh vegetables from our own organic garden, and you are welcome to help our chefs pick the ingredients for your meal! You can choose to eat on your terrace, in the gardens, or out in the wild. Enjoy a “bush breakfast” near the hippos or a picnic under the shade of an acacia tree. After your safari, you can cool off in the pool or enjoy a relaxing massage.
The Olare Mara Kempinski is located in a massive private area of 35,000 acres. This beautiful land is filled with wide grasslands, forests, and trees. Our game drives are led by expert guides who know everything about the land and the animals. You will have the chance to see the “Big Five”—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—plus many other amazing animals in their natural home.
You can also experience the famous Maasai culture. We offer respectful visits to a local Maasai village. Because our team has a close relationship with the community, you will be welcomed as an honored guest and a friend.
The camp’s 18 private tented suites reflect timeless safari elegance, featuring polished wooden floors, oriental rugs, writing desks, and classic four-poster beds. The camp’s design reflects the conservation-focused vision of Beverly Joubert and Great Plains Conservation. Shared dining and lounge areas are available for meals, relaxation, and enjoying the natural surroundings.
The sound of “Ishara” seems to drift effortlessly across the rolling grasses of the Maasai plains. Meaning “sign” in Swahili, the name draws us back time and again to this pocket of African beauty. In Kenya’s Maasai Mara, wildlife is everywhere—hippos, buffalo, hyenas, lions, leopards, and cheetahs roam freely. The camp blends harmoniously into its natural setting, tucked among cooling greenery and anchored by a grand old olive tree. Elevated walkways link the tents, offering both privacy and comfort in a well-concealed retreat—an ideal base for discovering the wildlife-rich Maasai Mara National Reserve.
