Each retreat is a masterpiece of classic safari elegance, featuring expansive private verandas that offer a front-row seat to the Serengeti’s uninterrupted horizons and ancient wildlife rhythms.
Within these walls, luxury is a quiet, unhurried affair defined by handcrafted textures and the seamless transition from sophisticated comfort to the untamed wild. It is a place designed for the discerning traveler to exhale, where the grandeur of the landscape is matched only by the deep, soulful serenity of the stay.
In the heart of the Serengeti’s most prestigious wildlife corridors, every game drive and guided highland trek is a masterclass in raw, unfiltered nature. As dusk falls, the traditional “Simba Sundowner” offers a refined pause to toast the savannah’s transition into its nocturnal rhythm.
Evenings are an intimate immersion into heritage, where Maasai storytelling and fire-lighting ceremonies unfold under a brilliant canopy of Southern Hemisphere stars. Here, the romance of the Serengeti is not just observed—it is lived through moments of profound connection and effortless elegance.
Nestled in the pristine heart of the Northern Serengeti, Mara River Camp occupies a position of unrivaled prestige. Situated a mere ten minutes from the legendary Mara River, this camp offers guests more than a stay; it provides an intimate sanctuary at the threshold of nature’s most cinematic theatre.
While the world knows these waters for the thunderous drama of the Great Migration crossings, the true luxury lies in the quiet intervals. Beyond the spectacle, the landscape reveals a rich, permanent tapestry of life—where apex predators claim the shadows and ancient herds roam the golden plains. Here, the rhythm of the wild is not just something you observe; it is a pulse you feel, mere moments from your doorstep.
The Great Migration is a group of over one million animals that moves across the Serengeti all year long. Migration Camp is hidden among giant rocks overlooking the busy Grumeti River. It is the perfect place to watch wildlife and relax in luxury.
Here, you can experience the true magic of the Serengeti. The air is fresh, the views are endless, and the land is filled with animals, just as it was thousands of years ago. A stay at Migration Camp will make you feel refreshed and connected to the heart of Africa.
Before Namiri Plains existed, these vast grasslands in Tanzania were closed off to visitors for over 20 years to help the cheetah population recover. This was a hugely successful conservation effort, and today, the area is home to healthy populations of elephants, zebras, giraffes, and many other animals.
Namiri Plains is now a remote and much-loved camp that offers an excellent base for a safari. The camp’s design is beautiful, with graceful tented roofs, luxurious outdoor tubs, and a deep-blue pool overlooking the endless Serengeti landscape.
Located by the Ngare Nanyuki River, the camp offers plenty of ways to relax. You can spend a sultry afternoon by the pool, indulge at the spa, or find a good book in the library, which is filled with fascinating materials about big cats and conservation.
We highly recommend enjoying a cocktail on your private deck and watching the incredible cloud formations that only the Serengeti sky can produce. Completely refurbished in 2019, Namiri Plains runs entirely on solar power, although after each breathtaking sunset, you’ll find that the stars alone are enough to light up your night.
