If you didn't have your safari briefing upon arrival yesterday, it will be provided after breakfast today. Following the briefing, we'll set off for our first safari destination, Tarangire National Park. Our journey from Arusha takes approximately two hours, during which you'll get a glimpse of Tanzania's vibrant colors and landscapes. Tarangire is renowned as the "Elephant Playground," boasting vast herds of these majestic creatures, along with buffalo, lion, wildebeest, and more. Keep an eye out for special sightings like kudu and oryx, and don't overlook the smaller animals like agama lizards and hyraxes. The park is also a haven for birdwatchers, with species like the lilac-breasted roller and ostrich abundant. Additionally, the park features splendid baobab trees and a rolling savannah. After a rewarding day of game drives, we'll return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Tarangire National Park
Embark on an immersive morning walking safari in Tarangire National Park, accompanied by a park ranger and your expert driver-guide. Delve into the wilderness on foot, heightening your senses to unfamiliar sounds and smells, while learning about animal tracks, dung, and the inhabitants of termite mounds. This up-close encounter with nature promises unforgettable memories. Following the walking safari, enjoy a lunch break before embarking on an afternoon game drive, where you'll discover new experiences and encounters in Tarangire's diverse terrain. With its riverine woodlands, grasslands, acacia, and baobab trees, the park serves as a vital refuge for wildlife during the dry season. Keep an eye out for the park's remarkable birdlife, including exotic species like the 'white-bellied go-away bird' and the 'Madagascar bee-eater.' Additionally, expect to encounter a variety of large mammals during the afternoon game drive. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Following breakfast, we embark on a journey to our next destination, Serengeti, which is approximately 145 kilometers away, taking around 3 ½ hours to reach. Upon arrival, we enjoy lunch before venturing out for an afternoon game drive. The vastness of the Serengeti's plains is awe-inspiring, leaving first-time visitors with a sense of wonder. As we explore this incomparable wonder of Tanzania over the coming days, we'll be treated to a variety of wildlife surprises amidst the breathtaking terrain. Each game drive promises a blend of the known and unknown, with the certainty of being amazed by the unpredictability of wildlife sightings. The ever-changing light and cast of animal actors ensure that every moment offers a new experience. While capturing memorable photos is essential, taking a moment to appreciate nature's real-time, raw beauty is equally important. Later, we return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Serengeti National Park
Today, we depart from our accommodation in the Central Serengeti, where wildlife thrives abundantly. With animals seemingly seeking us out, today's highlights are unpredictable, as nature operates on its schedule. Depending on the season, this area, where bushland meets grassland, is favored by big cats hunting for prey, including cheetahs, leopards, and lions. It's a full day of exploration, offering opportunities to appreciate the diverse landscapes of the Central Serengeti. The Seronera River meanders through the region, providing vital water sources for all wildlife species. Additionally, the iconic rocky outcrops, known as kopjes, adorn the Serengeti landscape. Lunch amidst the bush promises an unforgettable experience, with everything in this area varying with the seasons. During May, November, and December, migrating herds join the resident wildlife, creating a spectacle of nature. Later, we return to the lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
