Amboseli National Park, located in southern Kenya, is celebrated for its vast elephant herds. The park’s name, “Amboseli,” derives from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust,” making it one of the premier locations in Africa to observe large herds of elephants in their natural habitat. The park offers a variety of ecosystems to explore, from the arid expanse of Lake Amboseli to lush wetlands with sulfur springs, savannahs, and woodlands. Visitors also have the unique opportunity to engage with the local Maasai community living around the park, providing a genuine insight into their traditional culture.
Brighten your day with an early morning breakfast at the camp. Proceed to an adventurous full-day game drive and view diverse and abundant wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, zebras, elephants, buffaloes, and an array of birds. Stop for a picnic lunch at a designated spot in the park. Take photos from the pop-up roof of your safari vehicle throughout the day, then return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Brighten your day with breakfast at the camp. Then it’s time to check out and bid farewell to the staff of Kibo Safari Camp. You’ll begin your drive to another iconic wildlife destination: Tanzania. First, drive to the Namanga border for visa formalities. Next, continue to Arusha and stop for lunch at the Cultural Heritage Center, the largest gift shop in Africa. Afterward, embark on another drive to Karatu town, enjoying the scenic views as you cross Maasai land. Finally, arrive in Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast today, you’ll set off for Serengeti National Park, armed with a picnic lunch box for the journey. All meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, will be provided, along with daily drinking water for each guest.
Serengeti National Park stands as the epitome of wilderness and wildlife conservation, home to an estimated three million large animals. Many of these animals participate in the iconic seasonal migration, a spectacular natural event that is considered one of the wonders of the natural world. Spanning an area of 14,763 square kilometers, the Serengeti’s name originates from the Maasai word ‘Siringet’, translating to endless plains, a fitting description for this vast and seemingly boundless landscape.
