Game drives and a picnic in Africa’s original “Garden of Eden”
Believed by many to have been Africa’s original “Garden of Eden,” Ngorongoro Crater ranks among the world’s largest calderas, and contains one of the oldest and most diverse ecosystems on Earth. Within this dormant volcano’s walls lie short grasslands, swamps, forests and a freshwater lake – all of which inspire a continuous parade of migrating wildlife. You’ll not only embark on a game drive in this “lost world,” but a private picnic lunch inside the crater will be a highlight of your trip.
When you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, we will collect and transfer you to your first night at the Arusha Coffee Lodge, Resort & Spa, located at Mount Meru's foot second-highest mountain in Tanzania. The area is known as the gateway to the safari. Get settled in and meet your fellow travelers before you set off on your epic, luxury adventure.
Arusha Coffee Lodge
Time to explore the Serengeti as you begin a four-night safari in Tanzania and a five-night Kenya safari. Your first game drive will take you through Lake Manyara National Park. Here you will hopefully catch your first glimpse of giraffes, baboons, hippos, and elephants, along with hundreds of species of birds. An estimated 30,000 large mammals populate the Lake Manyara National Park.
After your day of exploration, it's time to rest at your lodge for the next two nights. Located on the Ngorongoro Crater rim overlooking the caldera below, it's the perfect place for us to celebrate with an exclusive welcome reception and dinner.
