Overview – Mikumi NP
Mikumi National Park, often overlooked, is celebrated for its vast landscapes and rich wildlife, particularly in the Mkata Floodplain, reminiscent of the Serengeti’s broad vistas. Notable areas within the park include the hippo pool and the Millennium area, both of which attract visitors for their abundant wildlife sightings. The park is intersected by the Dar-Ruaha road, which sees increased activity in the dry season. For those seeking solitude, the southern part of the park offers a more untamed wilderness experience, renowned for its populations of elephants and lions.
