Towering out over Cape Town, Table Mountain is an unavoidable attraction in the Western Cape of South Africa. Although the vast majority of visitors prefer taking the Aerial Cableway up to the flat summit of Table Mountain, there’s a whole world of wonder to explore by foot if you choose to hike up instead.
You’ll get to choose between the more than 60 possible routes that lead to the summit, none of which take more than 3 hours of hiking. The most popular of them all? The Plattenklip Gorge route. It’s the easiest route for non-technical hikers, and even if your pace is slow and steady, you’ll be gazing down on the mother city in about three hours.
