Day 1
Masai Mara National Reserve
Day 1: Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, your dedicated driver-guide from Bush 2 City Adventure will meet you at your hotel in Nairobi. You'll then set off for Masai Mara in a private safari vehicle, arriving in time for a hearty lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive. Masai Mara is one of the last places on earth where wildlife roams freely and abundantly, reminiscent of Africa's vast plains and forests of yesteryears. Positioned at the northern end of the great Serengeti ecosystem, it serves as the backdrop for the incredible annual migration of thousands of wildebeest, zebra, and their predators. After the game drive, you'll head to your camp or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Main Destination:
Masai Mara National Reserve (Kenya)
Best Time To Visit
June to October is ideal for general wildlife viewing, while the peak season for witnessing the wildebeest migration spans from August to October.

Day 2
Masai Mara National Reserve

Following breakfast, we embark on a full-day game drive, complete with a provided packed lunch. The reserve is celebrated for its population of black-maned lions and a wealth of resident wildlife, making it a rare location where spotting the Big Five in a single morning game drive is possible. The reserve's cheetahs are notably approachable, often seeking shade beneath vehicles or even climbing onto them to survey potential prey from a higher vantage point.

Birdwatching enthusiasts will find the reserve a haven, with nearly 500 species documented, including 16 eagle species, numerous hawks and falcons, six vulture species, eight stork varieties, four bustard types (notably the Kori bustard, the heaviest flying bird in the world), and nine sunbird species. After a day of exploration, we return to our camp or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park

Enjoy two full days of exploring the Serengeti with an open itinerary and unlimited distance to cover. As you ascend the hillsides, you are greeted by the expansive Serengeti below, a sight that stretches endlessly into the horizon, embodying its Kiswahili name which translates to "endless plains." Spanning an area of 6,900 square miles (18,000 square kilometers), the park is home to over 2 million large mammals, including a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebra, and Thomson's gazelle, all contributing to a rich ecosystem. This abundance of migratory prey attracts large predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. The park is also a sanctuary for smaller creatures like rock hyraxes, bat-eared foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, African hares, and an impressive array of nearly 500 bird species. Your adventure will be complemented with dinner and an overnight stay at the camp or lodge.

Encompassing 102 square miles with walls rising 2,000 feet, the crater is a veritable Noah's ark, hosting nearly every species native to East Africa, including the elusive black rhino, making it one of the continent's unique spots for wildlife viewing. The ecosystem within the crater includes a river, swamps, a soda lake populated by flamingos, forests, and open plains.
